Acceptable Use Policy
This document forms part of the agreement between SIVO Hub and the subscribing organisation.
This policy is short on purpose. It exists so that there is something to point at if the service is misused, not to catch ordinary customers out.
1. Who this applies to
It applies to the subscribing organisation and to everyone it lets into its workspace. The organisation is responsible for making sure its people follow it.
2. Do not use the service to
- break the law, or help anyone else to.
- store or send material you have no right to store or send, including anyone else’s intellectual property.
- store or send material that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, or that depicts the abuse or sexual exploitation of children.
- send unsolicited bulk email, or use the notification system to reach people who have not asked to hear from you.
- upload malware, or anything designed to damage a system or the people using it.
- impersonate someone else, or misrepresent who you are or who you act for.
3. Do not interfere with the service
- Do not attempt to reach data belonging to another customer. Attempts are logged and refused.
- Do not probe, scan or test the service’s security other than under the terms of the vulnerability reporting section of the security overview, which sets out what is welcome and how to report it.
- Do not attempt to defeat rate limits, quotas or seat limits, or to share one account between several people.
- Do not place a load on the service that damages it for other customers, whether by automation or otherwise.
- Do not resell the service, or make it available as a service of your own, without our written agreement.
4. Data you should not put in
SIVO Hub has no field intended for special category data under Article 9 of the GDPR (health, biometrics, beliefs, and so on) or for criminal offence data, and the service is not designed or assessed for them. Do not use free-text fields or attachments to store that kind of information. The same goes for payment card numbers: the product is not a card environment and is not assessed against the card industry standards.
5. What happens if this is breached
In almost every case the first step is an email asking you to fix it, with a reasonable time to do so. Where a breach is causing active harm (an attack, unlawful content, a threat to other customers or to the service) we may suspend access immediately and explain afterwards. Where content must be removed to comply with the law, we may remove it and will tell you what was removed and why.
Repeated or serious breaches may end the subscription under section 11 of the Terms of Service. Suspension does not delete your data, and your export remains available to you throughout.
6. Telling us
To report misuse of the service, write to [email protected] with enough detail for us to find it. If you think we have got a decision wrong, reply and say so. You will be dealing with a person, not a form.
